ECLIPSE SEASON SEPTEMBER 2025: VIRGO SOLAR ECLIPSE & PISCES LUNAR ECLIPSE
Hiii we have entered a heightened n’ holy two weeks of eclipse season. Expect some things to get random, exciting, uncomfortable, or maybe nothing at all if you're less endowed with Virgo/Pisces placements. For most of us, hidden truths will streak naked across the field of time and space in a succession of endings and beginnings.
Eclipses speed life up, and so slow down where you can - strong realizations or emotions may make things feel urgent the next few weeks, but I suggest taking your time to absorb it. Likewise, eclipses are not isolated events, they are like rings on a tree connected to your larger development. Think about what was happening 18 years ago...9 years ago...or even 6 months ago on the last eclipse season March 2025...
March 2025 is somewhat of a palindrome with this month, Mercury and Venus will once again be in contact with Saturn in Pisces, but now on the opposite side of the zodiac in the more discerning sign of Virgo. Thus, we flip a pancake from earlier in the year to spot some missed ingredients, helping us reassess a situation with a more critical eye.
A few notes on the Sept 7th Eclipse:
I know not everyone’s time in the womb was a peaceful Disney cruise - but the search to return never ends as we try to replicate this urge-to-merge with people, food, work, weed, scrolling. This first eclipse harbors a yearning for closeness and care. We may feel a sudden swell of gratitude for the people we feel most bonded to, or alternatively - the existential hunger for where our cup is not being filled.
With Mars in Libra coming off a square with Jupiter, we are reminded that vulnerability isn't what hurts our relationships, indifference does. There may be a sweetness swelling beneath new efforts. Yet, with Saturn also in the mix, be discerning. Notice where you're over-giving or leaking energy by exaggerating someone else's capacity for a type of connection that can't be met. Stake your boundaries.
The Virgo-Pisces dynamic also has a lot to do with public health, the ability to get help when we’re suffering and also the paperwork around it. The more access to healthcare flakes away - the more we need mutual aid, alternative healing and our own ritual practices to help us stay sane. This will definitely come in handy during the intense window of astrology from Sept 19-24.
Venus enters 0º Virgo Sept 19th with the Moon, a peck on the cheek that launches us into the next eclipse at 29º Virgo on Sept 21st.
29º is the final degree of Virgo, it evokes a mummified Marie Condo. You may find that you just can't keep up with a certain circumstance or habit anymore, and it may need to be deliberately spritz with holy water and be put to rest. This is also a new moon, and so a fresh chapter is embedded into the end of something, a moment of contraction or restraint creates a necessary vacant space for new growth...
This may be as simple as throwing away everything that's expired in a kitchen cabinet...to clearing out major personal and collective habits and relationships that are blocking your path. You may also need to set boundaries around any internal nit-pickiness that's eating away at your time and energy. Virgo's flaw-spotting skills can sometimes make us overthink and lock us up in logic-spirals. It's good to take in the data and be discerning, but notice where your analytical powers or failure-minimizing attempts start to immobilize you. At some point, you need to drop the math, listen to your body and trust where energy is magnetically pulling you right now...
Whatever this eclipse helps us realize and release, may immediately fling us into action - though prepare to swerve. The next day on Sept 22nd is like a clapperboard slate as the Sun moves into Libra opposite the elusive Neptune in Aries. Like an opera on ice, the Equinox is additionally thrown off balance by Mars in Scorpio bursting into song, basso profundo.
Mars in Scorpio bites down hard on what it wants and will do extreme things to get it. This is good news for getting into a work-trance and pummeling through a delayed to-do list, but from Sept 22-24 we aren't dealing with any ol' Mars in Scorpio...it will have extra layers of medieval clad pressed against Pluto in Aquarius.
Mars/Pluto aspects ramp up our survival instincts and can ignite passionate anger or aggression. Expect weird vibes to heighten as the Moon enters Scorpio the morning of Sept 24th, passing the shadowy-baton of the eclipse to this intense alignment. Thus, try to avoid jumping to conclusions or escalating petty arguments Sept 21-24th.
Basically, Mars will Mars’ing next week and so choose your battles wisely.
Take extra good care of yourself and others, connect to those ambitions and micro-habits that help you hold center. The Equinox is about resetting and rebalancing ourselves - and these intensities may help expose and transmute what keeps tipping the scales.
